The final of the Zenith Bank Delta
State Principals’ Cup football competition for secondary schools takes
place in Ozoro on Saturday with Master Care International School,
Asaba, clashing against Idjerhe Grammar School, Jesse.
The champions will represent the state at the next Shell Cup competition.
Master Care defeated Amai Secondary
Community School 2-1 in the semifinal while Idjerhe defeated Ogbe Ijaw
2-0 to book their place in the final at the Ultra-Modern Stadium in
Ozoro.
The tournament, which started on March
16 in Asaba, had over 1,200 private schools and 446 public schools
from the 25 local government areas in the state as participants.
The Group Managing Director of Zenith
Bank, Peter Amangbo, said, “I am happy with the situation report from
the organisers from the opening day till the final and I want to use
this opportunity to reaffirm the commitment of Zenith Bank to grassroots
development, especially in sporting activities.”
