Trump Slammed Michelle Obama For Not Covering Hair In Saudi Arabia, But...

First Lady Melania Trump met with Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz al-Saud in during a trip to Saudi Arabia.
Donald Trump’s old tweets keep coming back to haunt him. This time, they followed him to Saudi Arabia, during his first trip overseas as President of the United States.
In 2015, half a year before he officiaannounced he was running for president, Trump criticized then-First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama for not wearing a headscarf over her hair during a trip to Saudi Arabia.
But when Trump and his family visited the Islamic nation this weekend, people noticed that his wife Melania Trump and daughter Ivanka Trump did the exact same thing.
Melania Trump wore loose-fitting conservative outfits to the Islamic nation, much like Obama did during her 2015 trip to Saudi Arabia. Trump was seen wearing a black Stella McCartney jumpsuit covered most of her arms and legs, and was accentuated with a gold belt and chain-link necklace. Ivanka Trump wore a long-sleeved floral dress that reached above the ankles.

Once photos of the Trumps in Saudi surfaced online, people were quick to dig up the president’s old tweet and point out his hypocrisy.
Saudia Arabia has a strict dress code that requires Saudi women to wear long black robes, known as abayas, and to cover their hair in public. However, foreign diplomats or politicians aren’t required to cover their hair during visits to the country.
Middle East politics expert Christopher Davidson told NBC News that it’s “perfectly tasteful and appropriate” for prominent women, including the Trumps and Mrs. Obama, to forego headscarves during their visits to the kingdom.
“We’ve now had a number of prominent Western women who have visited Saudi in recent months, Angela Merkel and Theresa May,” Davidson said. “Neither of them covered their hair and they both wore trouser suits.”
Journalist Joyce Karam also pointed out that several other First Ladies and female American politicians have visited the country sans headscarf in the past, including Hillary Clinton, Barbara Bush and Laura Bush.
(Laura Bush briefly wore a head scarf, which was gifted to her, during a trip to Saudi Arabia, though she did not wear it for the entire visit, according to The Guardian.)

Osinbajo signs 3 executive orders on ease of doing business
By Levinus Nwabughiogu
ABUJA—THE Federal Government, yesterday, endorsed and signed three Executive Orders expected to give boost to the Nigeria’s concept of ease of doing business.

Ag Pres Osinbajo
The signing was performed by Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The development will increase patronage for locally manufactured goods. It will also remove all bureaucratic  bottlenecks that stifled growth of businesses in Nigeria.
The three executive orders, according to a statement from the Office of the acting president, touched on specific instructions on a number of policy issues.
The issues include “the promotion of transparency and efficiency in the business environment designed to facilitate the ease of doing business in the country; timely submission of annual budgetary estimates by all statutory and non-statutory agencies, including companies owned by the Federal Government; and support for local contents in public procurement by the Federal Government.”
Also, Osinbajo has congratulated former General Overseer of The Foursquare Gospel Church, Dr. Wilson Badejo, who turned 70 today.
In a statement by his spokesman, Mr. Laolu Akande, Osinbajo also felicitated with all members of the church, friends and family of Rev. Badejo, who has worked assiduously in spreading the gospel to various corners of the country and across the world.”
Earlier, the Acting President had participated in an interactive session at the old Banquet Hall of Presidential Villa with all relevant government officials, including some ministers, permanent secretaries and heads of departments and agencies among others.
The session was meant to directly engage government officials who would be implementing the orders and the new instructions.
Speaking at the session, Osinbajo emphasized the need for Nigerians to produce and feed themselves.
He said that the first 60 days target set up by the government for 70 percent effectiveness was achieved and the 30 percent can be achieved through continuous transparency and cooperation of government agencies.
He said: “I agree that a system of rewarding performance, and punishing malfeasance is key. We must work out incentive schemes even as we tighten up sanctions regimes.  We hit 70 percent quickly on the 60 days of doing business target because of the cooperation of all the agencies like ministry of Interior, Immigrations, Customs etc and that is why the remaining 30percent we will also achieve and deliver. I will hold myself accountable to it and I will also hold you accountable.
“Usually, we blame the system.  But the system is men and women not machines. So we can and must reform it.  These proposed executive orders present a unique opportunity to reform.  Ladies and gentlemen let us perform.

‎Alexander Okere, Benin
The son of the late former Coach of the Super Eagles, Suleman Amodu, has passed on at the age of 12‎.

Suleman’s death came nearly a year after his father, late Shuaibu Amodu, died in June 2017.

The former Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation died at the age of 58 and was laid

to rest in his hometown in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State.

It was learnt that the 12-year-old boy had fallen sick and died in Lagos on Sunday.

He was said to be a student of Navy Secondary School, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

When contacted, his eldest son, Abdul-Aziz declined to comment on the matter.

But a source close to the family disclosed that the deceased, who was the youngest child of the late

sports icon, was buried according to Muslim rites in Lagos on the same day.

The source said, “The boy is dead. He died on Sunday and was buried according to Muslim rites on

Sunday in Lagos. The family is in serious shock at the moment. He was the last child.‎”

The Chairman of the Edo State Football Association, Mr. Frank Ilaboya, also confirmed the incident
to our correspondent.

Ilaboya, who described the development as shocking, however, commiserated with the family of the deceased.

He said, “It is so shocking because when I heard it, I was wondering if it was the son of our late

coach. You can imagine that the father died about a year ago.”

Now the son, who was with us during the burial, is late. I am still in shock. We prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

I’ve no regrets Wike is Rivers governor – Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan
FORMER President Goodluck Jonathan has said that he has no regret that Chief Nyesom Wike became the Governor of Rivers State.
Jonathan declared that Wike’s “excellent” performance had justified the support he received from political stakeholders for his election in 2015.
Speaking on Thursday during the commissioning of the Second Nkpogu Bridge as part of the second year anniversary of the Wike administration, the ex-President said, “Governor Wike has performed wonderfully well.”
He explained that the governor had shown much commitment to infrastructural development, adding that the entire Rivers State had become a construction yard.
“I have no regrets that Governor Wike is the governor of Rivers State. I am happy that the governor has opened up Rivers State through projects.
“Wike has shown so much commitment to infrastructural development. The whole of Rivers State is now a construction yard,” Jonathan stressed.
The former President pointed out that the appreciation for the excellent performance of Governor Wike went beyond party lines, even as he recalled that Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, after visiting the state also, acknowledged that the governor was delivering on projects.
Thanking the people of the state for the support they gave him (Jonathan) throughout his eight-year involvement in national politics, he expressed happiness for the invitation to commission the Second Nkpogu Bridge.
In his address, Wike said that Nigerians had seen the difference between good governance and false promises after the two years of All Progressives Congress.
The governor assured the former President of the continued unwavering support of Rivers people, saying that he (Jonathan) will never be abandoned.
Wike described the decision to invite former President Jonathan to commission the second Nkpogu Bridge as a clear message to the nation that (Jonathan) would not be abandoned.
He said, “We are not politicians that when anything is wrong, they sing different song. Rivers State is a different place. When we believe in you, we believe in you. We are different from other Niger Delta states. We can say it with all authority.
“We cannot come out in the public and begin to castigate our own. Those of them who do that should have a rethink. For us, it doesn’t matter the blackmail against Jonathan, we will continue to back him.
“Those who think that they have promises from those who think they own Nigeria should be careful. They will use you and dump you at the appropriate time.”
Chairman of Monier Construction Company, Senator John Mbata, said the company constructed the two bridges, which now linked Nkpogu to the business districts of the state capital.
